Preparing for a Climate Crossroads- Energy Comedy Night

Preparing for a Climate Crossroads- Energy Comedy Night !

6:30 PM - 8:30 PM Doors open at 6:00 PM

"Imagine C-Span suddenly being swarmed by the cast of SNL"

-Minneapolis Star Tribune on the Theater of Public Policy

With Panelists: ANNIE LEVENSON-FALK (Citizen's Utility Board), ELLEN ANDERSON (University of Minnesota's Energy Transition Lab), JEREMY SCHROEDER (Minneapolis City Councilmember for Ward 11).

Every three years, electric utility Xcel Energy prepares a resource plan to decide which sources we’ll get our electricity from for the next 15 years and beyond. Xcel must share and get this plan approved by the MN Public Utilities Commission (which, as the name implies, is supposed to represent the public’s interests).

The THEATER OF PUBLIC POLICY will interview the panelists about this very important decision and will and transform what they say into improvisational comedy !

If you want to find out more and make sure your voice and priorities are heard in this process, this is a perfect opportunity to plug in a fun and accessible way. By partnering up with the improv comedians Theater of Public Policy, we are charting a fun new format to shine a light on this process in a way that’s designed to get a broader audience interested and engaged.

While there’s nothing funny about 7 in 10 of our power plants nearing retirement age, this comedy night explains why there’s plenty to laugh about––and a lot at stake––in this purportedly public process.

**Opportunities for feedback on the Xcel's Plan will be available before and after the show. Please add your voice!
