We as Minneapolis community members have been grassroots organizing for the last two years with a vision of make renewable energy and energy efficiency innovations more affordable for a greater number of people. As a result of our mobilization the City of Minneapolis signed an innovative, first in the nation, Clean Energy partnership with utilities Xcel and Centerpoint, which the will give the City shared decision making power over programs that can grow a socially-just, job-creating local economy through community based energy systems.

Constituents have an opportunity to against a budget Amendment to cut in half the necessary funding for the Clean Energy Partnership. The public hearing will be on December 10th at 6:05PM at City Hall.

This two hour teach-in will provide the background knowledge and history behind the Clean Energy partnership for those interested in learning more or speaking at the hearing. We are working to build a base of informed and engaged advocates who will to ensure that Minneapolis’ innovative utility partnership will be effective in accomplishing significant progress.
