PCT Nov 19th

We’ll be having a Powerful Conversations discussion on Wednesday, November 19th from 6:30 to 8:30pm in the Cedar Lake area.  This is being held in a supporter’s home, so if you’re interested in attending, please respond as soon as possible to reserve a spot (see below).

This will be a a very interesting and interactive discussion that includes a description of:

  • how our energy is generated in Minnesota,

  • the surprising built-in inefficiencies in the utility system,

  • the formula on how to get to 100% renewable energy.

  • how utility economics restricts the growth of local renewable energy, and

  • how the community activism of Minneapolis Energy Options over the last 2 years is helping to solve these problems in really exciting ways. As a result of this mobilization the city of Minneapolis is forming an innovative, first in the nation clean energy partnership with utilities Xcel and Centerpoint, which the will give the City shared decision-making power over Minneapolis' energy future.

While there is a special focus on the city of Minneapolis, the discussion is quite relevant to all communities in this area.

This event will be hosted by Larry Kraft, the new Executive Director of iMatter, Kids vs Global Warming. iMatter's focus is to "Empower youth to demand action that ends the climate crisis." During the event, Larry will give a brief update about the organization and its plans for 2015 and 2016.

If you would like to attend send Larry an email at [email protected], or call him at 952-926-3342.
