The Powerful Conversations Tour: Building an Empowered Community Ready to Direct Our Energy Future

6:00 PM Enjoy a Potluck Dinner (There is an oven and stove top for reheating anything if you wish)

6:30- 8:30 Come share, listen, learn, ask! This two-hour teach-in will clarify the economic & political dynamics behind our energy utility system in order to articulate how to effectively mobilize for growing a socially just local economy through community-based energy systems!

8:15 PM You'll be invited to join action teams based on your own passions and be part of the movement to create jobs, protect our public health, advance social equity and empowering the grassroots social change for more local, cooperative decision making in regard to energy. 

Minneapolis community members have been organizing for the last two years for greater local control and benefit over our energy system. This event will be a great opportunity to learn about what has been accomplished and the opportunities ahead as the city of Minneapolis begins an innovative, first in the nation city-utility partnership. Community education is key to building a base of effective advocates to ensure that Minneapolis’ partnership will be effective in accomplishing significant change next year. 

  We stand in solidarity with communities on the front line of fossil fuel extraction to present a vision for a clean energy future that enhances life and honors the common good of a global community on a healthy planet.
