Have you ever wondered how we might get solar panels on our public buildings, including our public schools? Please come to a presentation on Saturday, November 17th from 10:15-noon at Neighborhood House to learn how doable this can be, with your support. Join us at Neighborhood House (The Wellstone Center) 179 Robie Street East, Saint Paul, MN 55107 (Free parking available in the ramp)
Timothy Denherder-Thomas is the General Manager of Cooperative Energy Futures and board member of Community Power MN. He will present on how community owned solar actually is working from a financial and logistical standpoint, how it integrates economic, social and racial justice principles, from inception to installation and beyond, and how the community can support it to democratize ownership of solar through solar on the St. Paul schools (and other large buildings). He will be accompanied by Bob Blake, founder of Solar Bear Solar Installation, who “makes a concerted effort to train and employ those who may find difficulty attaining a job due to factors that may decrease their ability to gain or maintain employment” such as previously incarcerated people and people of color.
Community-owned solar is working in Minneapolis. Why not Saint Paul? Please join us!
