Every three years, electric utility Xcel Energy is required to create a 15-year energy that looks at a wide range of scenarios for how they can meet customers’ energy needs, which they bring to the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission for approval.
While there’s nothing funny about 65% of our power plants nearing retirement age, this event featuring expert panelists and a cast of improvisational comedians explains why there’s plenty to laugh about––and a lot at stake––in this purportedly public process.
Most importantly, we will provide you an opportunity for you to share your voice, priorities and ideas for our energy future in a fun and accessible way, both before, after the show and during the intermission !
Featuring panelists UMN professor of climate + science policy Gabe Chan, St. Paul Councilmember Mitra Jalali Nelson, and Institute for Local Self-Reliance energy policy wonk John Farrell
*Childcare and light food provided!
Sliding Scale Donation to Support the Event - The real cost per person is ~$20. We encourage folks to pay as they can whether that's $0 or $50 or somewhere in between. The ticket cost goes to support the talented improv artists of T2P2 + the energy democracy work of Community Power, so buying a ticket at $25, $30, $35 range will allow us to put on this event and also enable everyone to come regardless of ability to pay.
