In the 2025 Minneapolis city hall election cycle, Community Power again created opportunities for those running to represent us in city hall to share their perspectives, experience, and insights on local energy democracy through both written questionnaires and Q & A forum recordings listed below. Thank you to all who have participated!
In 2025 Community Power:
- Co-sponsored 5 candidate forums organized by the Minneapolis League of Women Voters in Wards 1, 7, 9, 11 & 12 (which is abbreviated as LWV from here on) and helped organize the June 25th Native Mayoral forum.
- Posted a total of 20 responses to our updated 2025 Energy Questionnaire, which you can read by clicking on the candidates' names at the list above and in the section below. For reference here is a blank Copy of our 2025 Community Power Energy Questionnaire
- Has met with 30 candidates running for city council and mayor, 24 who are on the ballot, to brief them on the history of local energy decisions in Minneapolis over the years.
This page is being updated regularly with newly returned questionnaires, links with more info on upcoming forums, and recordings from forums. When the next city council is seated, this page will be archived for reference and the words of whichever candidates are elected will be posted on our "Current City Leaders On Energy" page.
***** If you are running for office, a downloadable word version of it for you to make your own copy of and fill out is here and the email to send it to is [email protected] *****
How to use this Voter Guide:

- Click Candidate's names in the list below to see their websites. Links to returned questionnaires are in a different subsection.
- Links to Candidate Forum recordings are already timed to begin right when the moderator starts to ask the question unless otherwise stated. So there is no need to spend a long time scrolling.
- The ordering of candidates names is not to implicitly suggest a ranking but follows a consistent pattern - the incumbent (if any) is listed first and then the remaining candidates are listed in alphabetical order by last name.

Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board Candidates
While Community Power did not make a separate questionnaire more applicable for the Park & Recreation Board offices, we do acknowledge that environmental and ecological sustainability is a key topic that commissioners will address. There was an abundance of environmental-related questions asked at 2 forums for Park Board candidates. Since these were held very late in the campaign season, we thought we'd include video links to them in this voter guide.
Any Minneapolis Voters will get to vote elect 3 Citywide At- Large Park Board Commissioners and one commissioner from each of the 6 districts (see map here).
Environmental-Related Questions from the Oct 29th LWV "Grand Rounds" 3-part Park Board forum (covering every contested race):
- Hear Candidates for Park Board districts 4 & 6 answer a question on Protecting Natural Environment and Wildlife and access to nature.
- Hear Candidates for Park Board districts 4 & 6 answer a question on Alleviating Impacts of Climate Change and Improving Sustainability.
